PROBLEMS THE PACKERS WILL ENCOUNTER WITH THE 3-4

  1. I think this paragraph is a good summation of how the Packers current personnel fits the 3-4:

    "Although Green Bay plans to add at least one outside linebacker, up front, it seemingly has the type of players to fit a 3-4 scheme. Tackles Johnny Jolly and Ryan Pickett are 320 and 330 pounds, respectively. Defensive end Mike Montgomery weighs 273, somewhat undersized when compared to Dallas' Marcus Spears (315) or Pittsburgh's Aaron Smith (298)."

    In my honest opinion, I think Dom Capers and the 3-4 will be a good change and I think Wyche makes a good point. Much of how Green Bay transitions will be predicated on how well the Packers do in the draft and the free agent period.

  2. I completely agree. While they have some holes to fill this offseason, they have a lot of the positions set. That could change once they get into training camp and guys don't perform as expected. So we'll see.
